Babes In Plantland: De’Mar Hamilton

Babes In Plantland: De’Mar Hamilton

In the last couple of years, I’ve been wowed by my friend De’Mar Hamilton’s transformation. He’s lost 80 pounds (8-0!) just switching up his diet (more plants) and exercising on the regular. De’mar has always been a hottie, but now he’s even more of a babe than ever. He’s way more happy, and I swear his skin actually glows.

But what’s most impressive is that he’s constantly on the road touring with his band, The Plain White T’s, and he still manages to do his thing. I remind myself of his success every time I’m ready to complain about not having the best food options when I travel. This dude is making it happen on the road, in a tour bus, and in new cities…making an effort to find great options everywhere he goes. Here’s to De’Mar, our first Babe In Plantland!

Name: De’Mar Hamilton

Sign: Aries

Relationship status with plants: I try my best everyday to live as plant-based as I can.

Turn ons: Garlic tahini sauce from Cafe Gratitude, Veggie Grill, Pressed Juicery, Real Food Daily, Hugo’s, Handlebar.

Turn offs: Fake meat, especially any fake chicken.

Hummus or Guacamole: This is hard to decide because both are great and also a big part of my diet, but I’m gonna have to go with guacamole on this one.

Favorite juicery: PRESSED!

Quote that inspires you: I’m not sure how inspirational this quote is, it’s just one that I really like. “Taste is the fundamental quality which sums up all other qualities. It is the ne plus ultra of the intelligence.”  -Comte de Lautréamont

Restaurant you want to planticize (offer plant-based dishes): Since McDonald’s is the best fast food chain of all time, I would love it if they offered a couple plant-based items. Every once in a while you need to have a little McDonald’s in your life.

Dish you dream about: Trader Joe’s Vegan Black Bean Soup over jasmine rice topped with pico de gallo and Sriracha.

Fill in the blank. Eating my greens makes me… feel like I’m doing the right thing.

How do you stay healthy on the road? Tell me your best tips in the comments section!

    Congrats De’Mar.

I make sure to research healthy spots before travel, like juice bars, healthy restaurant and farmer’s markets. Depending how long I plan to travel, I’ll bring my juicer along if there aren’t any juice bars in the area.

Thanks Mariam! My in-laws bought me a juicer for their house – which makes traveling there easier. Love your website.
