So…I have a baby. He’s been home for a little over two months now. And to be totally real, I was little hesitant of posting photos of him here. For one, I didn’t want you to think that this was going to become a baby site. Nothing wrong with a good baby blog, but I don’t think that’s what you’re here for. Second, I can’t exactly ask Sid’s permission to post his photo. So Sidney, if you’re reading this…this is the only time this will happen. I promise. I am just so proud of you that I couldn’t resist.
After all, you were all here along the journey. AND I was asked to be part of Monica + Andy’s Blush series shot by Simply By Suzy (Suzzane Brown). After seeing the photos (WOW and thank you for letting me use them here), it had to be done.
Sid coming home to us was a pretty quick thing, once we got rolling. We met with his birth mom (she’s incredible) on a Monday – and by Wednesday he was here. Crazy, right? It happened so fast that none of our friends or family even knew that he was on our radar. Which made surprising them one of the most exciting things ever. Lots of surprise FaceTime calls (next time someone FaceTimes you, pick up! They might be surprising you with a baby).
This baby is pretty special. He eats like a maniac, is super sweet (like his dad), talks A LOT, and loves black & white patterns (like his mom). He was born in Chicago and is half-Mongolian. And if you saw the documentary Babies, you know they are pretty much the cutest babies ever. I love their big fat rosy cheeks so much. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly suggest watching it. Even if you don’t like babies. It’s an incredible film.
Clearly, I’m leaving out a lot of the details. And there are a lot of special details and incredible coincidences with Sid coming into our lives. But that’s where I’ll draw the line, Sweet Sid. You can share what you want and when you want to. Just please let me post a few more photos later on, ok? Like maybe a couple from your first day of school and a few from your prom? Ok, maybe that’s pushing it. I love you.
But I am sharing the 101 on the adoption process and my feelings on motherhood so far on Monica + Andy’s Blush. So head over and check it out. And when you are finished over there, make sure to check out more incredible work by Suzzane Brown.
