Episode 18: Becoming A Cancer Champion + The Power Of Telling Your Story with Megan Silianoff

Get ready to fall in love with one of my favorite people on the planet, because Megan Silianoff is this week’s guest. Megan was in town from Texas to host this month’s For Reals Meals, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to interview her…in person. My first face-to-face interview for the podcast. And it all went down at The Thompson Hotel.
Megan and I talk about overcoming cancer (twice), the incredible and emotional process of adopting her daughter, and the book she wrote that chronicles it all (99 Problems But A Baby Ain’t One). The word “inspiring” doesn’t seem big enough to describe her story – so take a listen and let me know if you’ve got a better word for it!

November 14, 2014This was my favorite podcast thus far (not saying the others were garbage)! Umm, first thing, please do not shorten the intro music. I love to blast it in my car and do a fist bump once the bass drops.
Second thing, Megan’s story was so amazing and encouraging. Hearing you both speak of adoption make a girl say hmmm….
Keep up the good work.
Muah,
Jeanette (your Miami BFF)
Jessica
November 26, 2014Jeanette, really?! Thanks so much. Megan is so damn inspiring. I am hoping to make it to Miami at some point this year and you’ll have to show me the best healthy spots to eat!

November 14, 2014Love, love LOVED this podcast (as usual!) but had to comment because… is it just me or do you (Jessica) and your amazingly inspiring guest (Megan) look like you could be sisters? Seriously! In the the header photo I initially thought it was strange that it was a pic of you when it’s normally a shot of your guest. Then I headed over to Megan’s blog I realised it was her and you both look so much like each other which is fantastic because the world needs more beautiful, inspiring ladies with amazing stories!
ps. I am with the majority on the intro thing – I like it longer, it makes for an upbeat start to my runs 🙂

November 26, 2014Um…I would love to look like Megan…she’s the prettiest. And thanks for the comment about the intro. Gonna keep it long!
