What We Can Do

It feels weird to post a new recipe or interview this week with all that happened in Paris just a few days ago. I’m not sure about you, but it’s all that I’ve been able to think about.
I encourage you to take the time that you would have spent reading a blog post or listening to a podcast this week and help someone who is suffering from this tragedy. I’ve included some ways you can do that below. And if it’s not in the budget to help monetarily, try to find another way to send a message of love and support to so many people who need it right now.

November 16, 2015That’s lovely Jessica. So true and I feel exactly the same about posting about my usual topics (sometimes frivolous, in the great scheme of things) on my blog/social media right now. Thanks for giving us some other options.
I was out for a lovely celebratory lunch with my family on Saturday in NZ, and we left to hear this news. I couldn’t stop feeling so sad for all those people who went out for their own special occasions in Paris that night, but didn’t get to go home – and the thousands of people who are now grieving for them.

November 17, 2015I am currently trying to find if there’s anywhere I can go and just grab a coffee with a refugee and try to learn them some Swedish or something about our city. I imagine having great conversations with them and learning a lot myself.
Answer: I’m not at all sure about that wise part haha, but I am eternally grateful that we learn english at such a young age so that all of us speak (at least) two languages. Did you try using google translate? It often gets kind of messed up :S I’m about to re-do my blog a lot and I hope to get some nice translation plugin goin’ I used to write every blogpost in english as well but it just took up soooo much time! Anywho, I recently found your podcast and I really love it! You’ve found some great people to talk to, I love the conversations and you’re so down to earth and natural – it’s a bliss to listen to so I really want to spread it to others 😀 Have a nice week!
