I recently drove up the Cali coast, starting in LA and ending in San Francisco. And when I say I drove, that actually means I copiloted. Living in Chicago, I haven’t driven a car in 12 years and wasn’t about to try it out on the winding roads of Big Sur. My man and I were headed to SF to see a friend’s new baby, and I only had 24 hours to take in the town once we arrived. But I knew there was one place that I just had to hit. Juice Shop.
I had already seen countless Instagram photos of their awesome bottles and pretty juices. And because of all that, I had built them up quite a bit in my head. I was actually a little nervous to see whether or they’d live up to my wild expectations. But they did that and then some. I bought three: Bright Green, Deep Green, and Pineapple Pear Chia. I’m rarely a lover of all fruit/no greens juices, but it was so damn pretty that I just had to try. Their fruit-based juice wasn’t too sweet, it was super clean and light. One of the best I’ve ever had.
When I was there, one of the three brothers who own Juice Shop was there making a delivery. He mentioned that he was the “least attractive of the bunch,” which means that he’s either lying or his brothers are mythical creatures of hotness. His Cali glow and sweet demeanor made the experience even more fun. The tale of how Juice Shop began is pretty awesome and full of incredible love. Check out their story, and swing by the next time you’re in San Francisco. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll spot one of the mythical creatures of juice hotness.

PS. And speaking of hotness – a toast to my good smellin’ Magellan for navigating the way. Best ever.
