One Part Pledge / A Challenge From Rose Lazar Of The Great Lakes Goods

One Part Pledge / A Challenge From Rose Lazar Of The Great Lakes Goods

This week I’m talking to one of my biggest art/design idols, Rose Lazar. I admire her so much and couldn’t wait to get her on the podcast. I admire for hundreds of reasons: she’s the best gift-giver I know, she makes all of her products by hand (her own hands) for her company, The Great Lakes Goods, and she loves Drake even more than I do. And that’s a lot.

But the thing I admire most about Rose is that she does exactly what she wants every single day. She only makes what she loves and only sells what she truly cares about. And when you have your own business, that’s not always the easiest thing to do. But she’s mastered it and gives great insight on this episode on exactly how she’s pulled it off.

You’ll have to listen in to hear Rose’s challenge. But whether you decide to take the pledge or not, I’m pretty sure you’ll walk away with a new idol too.

Here’s Rose:

If you decide to take the pledge:

1. Take the pledge and keep it to yourself. Tell no one or maybe just your best friend at dinner. Write it in your diary. Say it out loud to your bathroom mirror. Do you.

2. Take the pledge and share in the comments here. It’s a great place to talk with fellow pledgers. And also a great place to ask any questions you might have about the challenge.

3. Take the pledge and tweet it. Share on Twitter and tag it with #onepartpledge. Challenge someone else you know to take part in it. These things are always easier with friends.

4. Take the pledge and Instagram it. Take a photo of yourself holding up the OPP hand sign (it’s above) or a photo of you doing the challenge. You don’t even have to show your face. Get creative with it. And make sure to tag me, so I see you! #onepartpledge

If you miss a challenge or aren’t ready for it right now, that’s ok. This isn’t like an episode of Game of Thrones. You can miss one and still know what the hell is going on.

Let’s do it!!

    Hey there Jessica and Rose

This is a really simple challenge and it’s actually one of my faves so far.

I often think I’ll just take a quick look at instagram and then 10 minutes later I’m feeling a whole lot less happy than I was before. Same can happen with facebook. So I now limit my time on both and I love the idea of noticing the comparison downer when it happens, and simply not following that train of thought!

Great work, and yes I would like the challenges to continue please. Take-home messages are always helpful!

    Cheers

    Nicola
